Key Responsibilities:
1.Responsible for genetic manipulation with Mycobacterium and/or other bacterial pathogens, developing phenotypic assays and HTS for antibacterial.
2.To identify antibacterial drug target, analyze the mode-of-action of small molecule, and bacterial strain typing and genome sequence analysis.
3.Develop knowledge to strengthen the medical and pharmaceutical aspects of the projects.
4.Facilitate both internal and external collaborations, and provide scientific expertise across functions/teams.
Main requirements:
1.PhD degree in microbiology or the related biological sciences with proven record of accomplishment. Experience in Mycobacterium model organisms (M. tuberculosis,
M. smegmatis, M. bovis BCG, etc.) is highly appreciated.
2.Industrial or CRO experience in whole bacterial cell screen against small molecule library is preferred. Animal model and/or pharmacology experience would be a plus.
3.Have in-depth understanding of general microbiology, bacterial genetics, and microbial biochemistry.
4.Highly self-motivated, and be willing to work diligently in a collaborative and dynamic team environment. Strong oral and written capability in English.
5.Result driven, multi-task, communicate clearly and present in a professional manner.
6.Scientific integrity is a must, candidate should be professional in maintaining lab notebooks and electronic files.
